Every
person has a imaginative, distinctive brain, the limits to which we can
drive the brain's potential depend entirely on how we trigger and
stimulate it. As we gradually open the secrets of the brainpower, we
have come to realize that the mental ability stored in the brain is as
vast as the oceans: it can express emotions and transmit sense, assume
in conceptual terms.
EQ (emotional quotient) and IQ (intelligence quotient) test are
frequently used for mental ability. EQ (emotional quotient) tests are
now more prominent than the IQ (intelligence quotient) test. The EQ is
used measure the emotional ability while IQ is used to measure the
mental ability of a person. The tests are mainly based on the following
abilities classified as below:
- Verbal ability
- Numerical ability
- Visual- Spatial ability

- Technical skills
The
traditional IQ test has certain limitations. This is the main reason
that the EQ test has come into fashion. IQ tests can only calculate
linguistic, logical, and spatial intelligence, while the EQ test
includes intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence.
So these
tests are useful and exciting to judge how important it is for
effective performance at work and also person’s ability to perceive,
recognize, and manage emotion provides the basis for the kinds of
social and emotional competencies that are essential for success in
