EQ (emotional quotient) and IQ (intelligence quotient) test are frequently used for mental ability. EQ (emotional quotient) tests are now more prominent than the IQ (intelligence quotient) test. The EQ is used measure the emotional ability while IQ is used to measure the mental ability of a person. The tests are mainly based on the following abilities classified as below:

The traditional IQ test has certain limitations. This is the main reason that the EQ test has come into fashion. IQ tests can only calculate linguistic, logical, and spatial intelligence, while the EQ test includes intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence.
